Let's talk about penis 8)
Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid?
I'm mainly talking about mutilating little babies. Many parents do it, at least in the US, because of a variety of reasons. Apparently there are cleanliness issues with having a foreskin, but as far as I know, all you have to do is peel it back and clean it. A foreskin can lead to some diseases like penile cancer, but penile cancer is rare anyway, and there are some other diseases more likely to occur in circumcised dudes.
There's also the matter of the Torah telling you to, most commonly practiced by Jews but I guess some Christians since it's part of the Old Testament. The thing is that it's not your child's religion. He doesn't know left from right yet, let alone the Ten Commandments. A religion is a choice, and infant circumcision is not. And besides, I'm sure old Abraham could have used some cleaning and had lots of sand in his foreskin, but this is the future with flying cars and appropriate hygiene facilities. It's archaic. It's like taking a baby on the Hajj before he's ever heard of Islam. He can't speak and it means fuck-all except that you may not have to pay for a babysitter.
There's also nonsense about how most kids are circumcised and not doing it will make your kid an outsider in locker rooms. They don't undress anymore, at least not where I live. When they take showers in guys locker rooms it's abnormal to not wear underwear. They call it a porno shower if you're ass-naked, and you can't really look anyway without being bombarded with either insults against your sexuality or whoever you looked at doing an air-based pelvic thrust in your direction in order for you to feel uncomfortable. Just stop circumcising and there will be less nonsense about being an "outsider."
So I guess if you grow up and want to be Jewish, or maybe you have an infection that is caused by having a foreskin, then you should do it. But doing it to babies is pretty darn wrong. Your appendix (and maybe gallbladder?) is (are?) not directly useful and can be infected and if that happens, it (they?) must be taken out to prevent shit from getting real (ocean?) but you don't take it (them?) out when a baby is born (thesaurus?). If there is an immediate threat, go for it, but I'm against nonconsentual baby genital mutilation.
