This game is awesome. I had high expectations for it and I'm not dissapointed. I actually purchased a Playstation 3 for it. My first playthrough, I made it to the end with all the characters(which is the best ending.) I suggest that you play on the hardest difficulty, which is what I did. I'm trying to get the rest of the trophies now. This is a must buy. And there are three nude scenes(heads up).

I don't have a PS3 so I haven't played it, but I did play Farenheit, the first game by the same studio. It was OK, I appreciated what they were trying to do - make a game that was more cinematic and more accessible to non-gamers. Also the focus on characterisation instead of having a bunch of empty action-hero cardboard cut-outs. But I have to admit the gameplay was a bit lacking, feeling a bit like a series of interactive cutscenes rather than a proper game.

Well, to start off, your right, Farenheit was an okay game. I can understand where your coming from with the whole cinematic thing, but that's what's so amazing about it. The user can't make a wrong turn and spoil the moment. This is just another style. What's awesome is that it all flows so smoothly, you imput an action and there is no pause, lag, or any other thing that slows the pace. This also alows one to focus on the facial exspressions, which they did an amazing job on. This is one of the reasons that is helping stick with a PS3. It's ,hard when all of your 360 owning buddys are constantly taunting you:"Hey Sam, you know what would be funny...? If Sony made a game counsole!"

But isn't choice of action the main reason games exist? So that you can decide what will go on based by what you feel it's right? Don't get me wrong i haven't played the game so i can't really pass judgement but it kinda seems to me that you can have the almost excact experience by... going to a movie with the same exact plot?

For anyone without a PS3 (or with one, I guess), you can download a FREE ! text-based adventure inspired by Heavy Rain at :

Look for the dowload link near the top, where it says 'Lots O' Rain' in the sentence.

I played Fahrenheit which had a nice setting, but it became kinda dumb during the latter parts. And while playing I kept thinking, "Shenmue 2 has better Quick Time Events!"

But I read reviews of Heavy Rain highly praising it as a must-play, so I bought it (2nd PS3 game I bought, btw).

And I gotta say, it was a truly awesome experience with a more than compelling story. But I don't feel any urge to play through it again, unfortunately. Probably because I know the story and I can simply watch gameplay videos on Youtube showing the different paths/endings I could've taken.

Hmm, just completed Lots O' Rain; funny but too short :P
