Psychonauts Empty
PostSubject: Psychonauts   Psychonauts EmptyMon Oct 11, 2010 2:06 am

I can't get my X360 working here in Mexico. I think it's because it's an Asian machine and works on a higher voltage than thay have in the USA and here in Mexico. SO I think I need another power pack. Or something. WHile I'm figuring all that shit out I've been playing my PS2. Some old favourites. And just yesterday I started playing Psychonauts again.

Psychonauts is basically the defenition of an 'in the know' game. Critics absolutely raved about it, but for some unknown reason it never really sold that well. I honestly don't know why this is. The game is awesome.

It's made by 'Double Fine' Tim Schaffer's company (of Monkey Island fame - Double Fine went on to make the recent Brutal Legend). The design is just beautiful. Cartoony, but weird and twisted, but still bright an dvibrant. The gameplay is great. A bit easy perhaps, but tons of collectibles to keep you looking and to up the difficulty if you want to find them all. There are great upgrades, not just cosmetic but actually useful and often game-changing.

In short, I can happily say it's my favourite platform game of all time, and probably in my 10 of any game. If you have a PS2 and have never played it - do yourself a favor.

I don't have a PS2 and I'd be hard pressed to find a store in 100 mile house that sells obscure PS2 games. So much for that. Besides, I've never been a huge fan of Tim Shafer. Something about his particular brand of humor just doesn't appeal to me.

It's also on PC for like $10 on Steam. I have it, but haven't played much of it.

Have I mentioned that a) all my money is in cash and b) I can't set up a PayPal account anyway for reasons I'd rather not get into?
