Anyone owns this? Heard about it? Its a different game on ps3. Basicly you go around these worlds fighting demons, but thats not whats uniqe about it. If you die(and you will, its brutally challenging) you loose, not only your body, turning you to a weak soul-form, you loose ALL your level progress(no checkpoints here) making you start over the whole level and you loose your currency/xp(souls).

Its one of those games you either hate or love. You reached that boss, finally figured out how to kill him, need one more strike to finish him of, but dies from one of his cheaper attacks? Start the whole level over again, bitch! Minus the healing items you ate, arrows you fired, and weapons you broke.

It has a fun and different online mode too. basicly you can write messanges in your game, that everyone else sees in their games, as long as their online. Sometimes you see other players as ghostly ghosts, seeing what they do right now, but in their games.

You can also "invade" other peoples worlds, killing them for their sweet sweet souls, or invite yourself to help them out, in exchange for becoming ressurected.

So, yea. I just started playng it again. Its hard and addictive. Anyone here familiar with it? Ask question, discuss, whatever.

I've heard of it, but honestly I really don't care for the idea of a game that sends you back to the start of the level whenever you die. That's not challenging, that's just wasting my time.

Also, why Demon's Souls? It's really awkward to pronounce. They could have named it Demon Souls and it would mean the same thing, so why didn't they?

I was thinking about game difficulty recently, and I think the Japanese are the only ones still holding on to the old skool idea of difficulty. I don't have a PS3, but Demon's SOuls is pretty famous for its difficulty.Personally I think I'd just find it frustrating, but there's something to be said for a real solid challenge.

It IS frustrating, especially if you die because of an enemy punching you through a wall or so.

I dont think I would play it if it didnt have its difficulty and challenge. It has a lot of flaws. Your charachter cant jump, the AI is very dumm walking of cliffs etc, you cant pause the game......

But its litterarly the only game I ever played were I felt my heart bumping faster , when my characther runs for his life not to be hit by the giant dragon, Im like really going havetomakeithavetomakeithavetomakeit. And the RUSH you feel when you kill a very hard boss, realising you never have to fight it again, is just :!: :!: :!: .
