| There was a bunch of stuff here about me trying to come out. This is the sexuality topic now.

| Well, sad to say but I think your fears are somewhat justified. Things are probably better now for gay people than at any time before, but there's still a lot of homophobia out there.
But then - who are you thinking of telling ? I mean, I don't go around telling people 'I'm straight' all the time. It's really no one's business except for friends and family. And if you told them then, although they might be surprised (or not), they'd hopefully respond in a positive way.
I'm 33 and I've lived a lot of places. I've known a lot of gay people, from flaming Liberace types to burly macho men. There's every kind of person you can imagine out there. And hopefully in this day and age you can take the opportunity to explore being whatever you want to be.
You say you're fifteen ? You've got a lot of time to figure things out. Hopefully you'll think of your situation as less of a 'predicament' and more of just another part of your journey. I'm glad you felt like you could share this here.

| I don't mind gays, provided they aren't those, you know, flamboyant stereotypes, they get on my nerves a bit. It is a bit weird though, that some people assume if someone's gay then he's going to hit on you. But I agree with Uberman, that now's a good a time for gays as any. In a couple of years, no one will mind. | |

| I certainly won't go "I'm gay!" all the time. I'd rather just go, "Yeah, so what," if someone asks like Barney Frank.
I just would like someone I know in the real world to understand it. I wouldn't be asking for special treatment or becoming part of some gay rights movement. I think it may have to do with the fact that I have a bunch of friends who don't matter as much as I make them up to. It's probably much less of a problem than I make it out to be but it's still an embarassing thing to admit to some people.

| You shouldn't be embarrassed, the ones who are usually against homosexuality are the biblehumpers and people who grew up in the 17th century, I doubt there is many left. Trust me, your parents and friends will understand no matter what. I come from a very religious family, and they completely understood when I chose to be atheist. Just to show you how religious my family is, they named me Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. It might seem like a big deal and at first and it might be awkward, but it will be good from then on, it will be such a relief to get off your chest. Yo just need to explain to them that this won't change the way you act, talk, or think, that you're still the same you, and they won't misinterpret that. | |

| I am now officially gay or something. But yeah I told my parents and two of my friends. I feel good. I don't intend for it to be a secret among my parents and friends or anything but why not start out small, eh.
I really couldn't help but chortle a bit when someone calling himself the infant shaker said he was named Muhammad, but I get where you're coming from. My parents are nicely understanding of a lot of stuff.

| I'm glad it worked out, what exactly did they say?
Also the Infant Shaker thing was sort of a inside joke with few of my friends.

| Basically they all reacted calmly. One of my friends was more surprised that I told him rather than of the actual fact. | |

At this point, that's really all of the battle. Honestly. You don't have to battle with anyone but them until 18 years of age at the earliest. The only thing you'll have to deal with is people next to you in line at the bank or something going on about their hatred for the gays. You just learn to ignore prejudice idiots after a while, I think. I know I was once next to a really religious catholic guy for about half an hour and all he talked about was how anyone who wasn't a straight white catholic was ruining our country. I'm not Catholic, for one, and I hate prejudice people, but I didn't say a damn thing to him because those people don't shut up no matter what you say. |

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY, ART ? I hope you don't include Extreme Prejudice in that comment. For I, sir, am one of those idiots. I hear what you're saying though. One of my favourite sayings is, "Strangers agree, friends argue." You get some stranger spouting off at you, like a taxi driver or whatever, and you may as well just let them go. What's the point in making the effort to change their mind ? But if someone is important to you, it's worth making that effort. I only really discuss things properly with close friends. For everyone else, I just smile and nod.

| How do you even know your own sexuality before you've even had sex? |

| Because of what makes your penis point up and what you have fantasies about. Chances are if you have fantasies of sex with men you probably do not want sex with women. | |

| Worst. Movie. Ever.
But yeah, I knew I was hetero before I ever got laid. Because of the HUNGER. Jesus I'm glad I'm not a teenager any more. Mind you, I kind of wish I wasn't an old geezer either. Somewhere in the middle would be better. To the DeLorean ...

| Oh! The great and epic trouble since big J came down to earth. Dude, first of all how old are you? Do you have brother/sister? Was there any events in pats that could couse such feeling? In wich role do you imagine yourself during sex ( active/passive)?
p.s. was gay by myself before i met a lesbian girl who in future, became my wife. I mean it.

| Oh! The great and epic trouble since big J came down to earth. Dude, first of all how old are you? Fifteen
Do you have brother/sister? One brother, eight years older than me
Was there any events in pats that could couse such feeling? Just a lot of happy fantasies
In wich role do you imagine yourself during sex ( active/passive)? Active/passive meaning what? I just imagine sex the way any teenager would. Except with someone of the same gender, and preferably better looking than me. If you mean like top/bottom, I don't know that yet but I'm willing to find out, honey. ;D
It's not just about sex, though, you know. Unless crushing on guys is a coincidence. I know two people whose homosexuality turned out to be a phase, and I don't think I'm that similar to their predicament.
Most of my friends don't really give a damn except this one kid who just didn't see it coming and this other guy who used to (and still does) make a lot of sexual innuendos with me (It's a matter of time till he finally comes out or actually finds a girl who he can open up to).
Since I actually came out to my family and friends it's been much less of a burden. The only possible problem is with my mom who knew me as rather masculine and accepts me for who I am but doesn't actually understand how it all works. Don't worry about it.

| So your family and friends accepted you? Thats great! Anyway, there is nothing to be ashamed of. In nature all animals (including people) are bisexual. So it's ok. Remember one thing. Don't try to change yourself by force. It will do no good.
Anyway, everything will come to you after your first actuall experiance. After that, you will trully realise about your wishes and desires. Just one request. Dom't become a show-of faggot, acting like a whore named Sucky Cockins. Couse it's a way of life not some kind of style or hobby. I think you are mature enough to understand the meaning of morale and behaviour. Best of luck to ya. And if you have questions, i'll try to answer them.
