AKA: True Crime 3. Haven't played either of the previous games myself, but I did try a demo of this one. At first it seemed like a sort of fun free-roam game, with a focus on foot chases and melee combat. The fight system borrows pretty heavily from Batman: Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed and feels less refined than either, but it's somewhat entertaining once you start getting the hang of it.
That said, things really fell apart once the second mission started. You go from an exciting chase through the streets of Hong Kong (I guess?) to brawling group after group of thugs in a dingy warehouse, and once guns get involved everything pretty much falls apart. Maybe it's because I recently finished playing the much more polished Max Payne 3, but the shooting mechanics felt really weak and poorly implemented.
I'd consider giving it a rent, as the first section had some pretty strong atmosphere and piqued my interest, but I doubt it'd be worth more than that.
