| Simply awesome.
I almost never play just one game to the exclusion of everything else. Ususally I play a bit of this and a bit of that. And I almost never finish games. Mass Effect 2 basically never made it out of my drive until I played it all the way through.
I carried over a character that I used to finish the first game, so perhaps that was part of the appeal. But everything in this games was just so polished, I think most people would enjoy it. A lot of the time when I play games with a lot of dialogue I can get a bit impatient with it. Dragon Age, for example, started to bore me after a while. For some reason I never got that with Mass Effect 2.
I played a goody-two-shoes throughout, as it was a carry over from my Paragon character from the first game, so I'm thinking of a second playthrough as a bastard. Oh, and I screwed Jack, got all chactaers loyal and brought everyone back alive. I rock.
Bring on part three ! | |

| Its funny. Mass effect 1 was a slow burner for me. Its kind of like Stew..it always tastes better the second time you try it. My second play through got me hooked because of all the neat things that carried over like paragon and weapons and all other stats.
So when i started the second mass effect..carrying over all my shit..it was simply great. However..it never really impacted the story the way they made you believe and some decisions from the first game were merely represented in the second in an email i got on my personal terminal..i was like "well...fuck that"
All in all.. a great game though. But not sure if they lost some of the magic from the first when they dumped the mako missions. Sure the controls for it were poxy and the missions were pointless in general..but that feeling of making it to the top of a mountain on an uncharted world and looking down at the valleys below with 2 or 3 moons setting on the horizon..brilliant.
Especially when stoned.

| My problem with this game is the number of choices you have.......classes.......storyline bleh its my own downfall I always get bored of my character and restart or hate a decision I made.....(my own problem with any class game with leveling).......Awesome game though I too carried over a character......lvl 60 Adept
loved the getting started bonuses you got from that....
HATES....... Ammo is a drag.....you would think in the future.....we would have infinite ammo weapons that dont require a HEAT clips. I have not played #2 all that long maybe anything I say negativly changes I do not know........ I hate not having the old characters.....(with a few exceptions)
much more to say but cant type good today

| I actually really really liked mass effect 2, already finished two playthroughs and going for a third. I mean what's not to like? Battles are great , and dialogues are kickass. I actually laughed out loud on some joker outtakes. I am really looking forward to the third of the series where i can finally punch that reporter's face again. I mean doing that is a stand alone reason to play the games =D | |

| In the future it'd be better to post long amounts of pics / attachments and so on as links. Just in case anyone is on dialup or a slower connection. | |

I couldn't help but feel that Bioware missed a great opportunity to expand their RPGs to RPGs/dating-sims with both of those games. I would have so much more fun playing mass effect 2 if I could've been sending dirty drunk-texts to the character I was trying to hook up with.
