Dead To Rights Retribution

Anyone remember the first two ? They were on PS2. One thing in my review that was not a joke - I remember them as being very, very bland. If the dog gimmick wasn't there, they'd have been thrown on the 'forget' pile of games. I was kind of surprised to see a third sequel, it doesn't exactly seem like a red-hot franchise to me. Even the trailers so far look bland, lots of dirty alleyways, building sites and that kind of thing. An attempt to be moody, like Max Payne or something I suppose. But it just kind of looks ugly. Hey, I'm always prepared to be plesantly surprised but in this case, I'd be very surprised indeed.

I'm not familiar w/ this series but the previews look good and the dog as a buddy is pretty neat; hope it's a good one.

Looks like a poor man's Gears of War to me. The devs tried to make the atmosphere dark and moody, but just made it look like a drab, grey turd lathered on my computer screen. Yet another example of the 'Game Colourist Strike'.

Dog is meh. Graphics is meh. Gameplay is meh. The game just seems very poorly put together.

It does the Dog gimmick a lot better than other games with a dog gimmick. It lets you control and command the dog at parts of the game, which is immediately better. There aren't many games where you get to play AS a dog and rip out people's throats.

That being said, I will not ever play this game.

Got this yesterday. Super bland.

Looks average, plays average. Really sloppy AI. Just doesn't really seem to have anything going for it. Perhaps it gets better later on (I only played the Prologue and the first full level) but somehow I doubt it. A more complete review on IGN or whatnot will probably say.
