I love the Burnout series. I love smashing other cars off the track. Even when I'm playing realistic racing games like Forza or Gran Tourismo I have to hold myself back from 'rubbing' a little too enthusiastically.

This game looks great and I'm pretty excited by the trailers. As realism was discussed in another thread I'll leave it alone here. But sufficed to say I have no problem with a ship in dry-dock breaking free from its moorings in a massive explosion so you can drive up over its tilting deck. No problem at all.

I'm looking forward to gameplay videos of this but I'll likely never play it. I won't be in on "current gen" games until maybe 2014.

Got a copy of this, and it's pretty much the game that it looked like it was going to be. Racing that is both Fast and Furous. Loads of explosions, helicopters dropping bombs, buildings falling down etc etc etc. I'm enjoying it so far. The only thing is that the racing feels a little simple to me. OK, so it's an arcade racer and that's to be expected. But things like 'braking' for example are particularly de-emphasised. You kind of just blast forwards. And the cars all seem pretty much the same. But that minor bitching aside, it's pretty cool. The explosions and so on really keep you on your toes, you have to keep your eyes open and react quickly at all times, which keeps your adrenaline levels pretty high.
