| So I've been putting off mentioning this for a while but I guess it's not going to resolve any time soon.
As some of you know I live in Bangkok. As some of you will have seen on the news, there's huge civil disturbances here at the moment. A peaceful month-long protest has now turned violent. Now, it's not lke there's running gun battles up and down every street, the army has drawn up lines against the protesters who are dug in in certain areas.
Unfortunately, one of those areas is where I live.
The block I live on sits squarely between the lines of the army and one group of protestors. In live in what has been declared a 'live fire' zone. For the past five days I've been basically stranded in my building while intermittent gunfire goes on outside. Reminds me of when I used to live in Brooklyn.
I've had some food in my apartment and there's a restaruant in my lobby that I've been eating at. And video games have been keeping me occupied, plus making a RWEP video. But now, I'm sick of it. Basically I've been hanging on waiting for this to resolve, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. In the time I've typed this far into this message, there have been about 10-12 gunshots and a couple of loud booms (grenades ?). Five days of this bullshit, and I'm sick of it.
So I'm heading down to the coast. It's time to get out of here until this shit gets sorted out. So I'm just saying, I may be off the forum for a couple of days. Not too long, don't worry, I will have internet access down at the beach and I'll check in. I've already told work I'm not coming in this week and they're fine with it.
In other words, I'm fine, I'm safe, I'm not worried, but it's time to get gone for a little bit. Peace out.

| Hmm...on the news, I saw a protester blind-firing an RPG (at least, what looked like it) from being a tyre barricade. Hopefully one of those doesn't make it's way into your head! Or you could just use 'Painkiller' :) .
But in all seriousness, it's probably best to get away while you can. See you in a while.

| Make sure everything you dearly love is in a very safe place just in case the city gets nuked while you're away. |

| Uberman's gonna live through this. He's not quite superman but I bet you he could survive a few tank blasts at LEAST. |

| What exactly are they fighting for anyway? There's a whole load of shit going on in East Asia that it all kind of confuses me. | |

My thoughts exactly, I just didn't want to seem stupid and ask... They want the ousted Prime Minister reinstated.

Actually, real life doesn't have rechargable shields. But luckily I smashed a crate and found a roasted chicken that healed me when I walked over it. Hola fourm ! I'm back home and I'm fine. The VERY SHORT version is that my timing was absolutely perfect. Things did kick off here and get very nasty, while I was drinking beer with bargirls down on the beach. I got home about an hour ago. Lots of damage in the area, but I am fine, my apartment is fine and everyone I know is fine. So, phew. Yes, the situation is very confusing for anyone who doesn't live here. In short, there are anti governement protesters who are complete cunts, too stupid to realise that they are simply being manipulated by a multi billionaire criminal (the ex-PM) and have set fire to half of Bangkok. And then there's the governement and army who are also cunts and couldn't organise a blow job in a prison shower, let alone a city wide multi-site protest breaking operation. So messy messy messy messy messy, which is pretty much normal for Thailand, but everything is OK for now.

The people are angry. They want something done to something or other. How is smashing windows, throwing Molotov's and stacking burning tires supposed to help? I guess the situations pretty much the same in Greece though. But rioting isn't going to solve anything so why...?!
