Maijin and the Forsaken Kingdom

Is it just me, or is there a glut of 3rd person action games at the moment ?

This is another one. The 'hook' is that you have this big ogre-like sidekick who helps you out in battle sometimes. There's nothing badly wrong with this game, it just doesn't have much going for it. The environments and overall setting is a fairly standard fantasy world. The game mechanics are passable. Certainly not broken, but not that orginal or interesting. It's just pretty bland at the end of the day. They've tried to spice things up with the ogre sidekick but it's just not enough. I say give this one a miss.
