| I wasn't celebrating. I saw the videos of people partying it up, and I was a bit disgusted too. But there's a topic for it on the other two forums I go to, and it's a pretty big deal and all, I think, so yea!
Besides, there's a difference between celebrating, and being happy, because I AM happy we got him. I just don't go for the whole barbaric war dance thing.

| Hey, heard on news they are not gonna release any details at all about how he died. Makes me think. Did he surender? Was there even a gunbattle? I mean, it does not seem capturing him was even considered an option, since they were gonna bomb the house completely at first. The reason why they choose not to was aparently not because of inocents in there etc, but because they wanted to be absolutely sure he died.
Uh, do I seem like an anti america guy now? Cause im not, I just think everyone deserves a trial, a change to argue and at the very least someone unpartic making the decission to punish you. Otherwise its just revenge.

| It was partially revenge though. He killed 3000 people.
Also, a trial would have been nothing more then a freakshow, and would have made him a martyr. Not to mention, creating a security nightmare. And where would he be sent to prison after?

| Yea, and he wont be a martyr now, will he? - Spoiler:
yes he will
Oh hey! A woman was killed too! Hmmm..... Guess I do give a shit. Anyway, lets go back to disscusing games. Theres not much point in arguing over what could have happen, or what should have, or what will. Especcially since its sorta out of our control anyway. I guess we'll see how this turns out.

So we do away with judicial systems if they become inconvenient ? Even the Nazis who killed far, far more people got the Neuremburg (spelling?) trials. It's in the face of adversity that people can really show what they stand for. I think the USA bringing their biggest single enemy into a fair, balanced international court of law would have been an incredibly powerful statement. I try not to be too much of a conspiracy theorist, but I think the real Osama has been dead for years, and this is simply the USA's way of finally ending the charade.

And that's a valid point you have, but in the end, that wasn't what happened... Who knows why, really? Maybe they were just ordered to kill on sight, maybe they didn't think they could safely extract an extra man, who knows. Either way, I can't say I'm too upset about the outcome.

Because his being alive validated anything they wanted to do in 'preserving freedom' etc etc etc. An enemy, particularly a heavily symbolic one, is very useful in justifying actions that people would usually be pretty reluctant to accept. But there's a pretty fine line between that kind of thinking and full blown conspiracy paranoia, so I'll just leave it there.
