I only recently heard of this. It's supposedly about Raiden in his ninja gear or some such.

If the game doesn't play like the Ninja missions in MGS: VR Missions, I won't even think of picking it up.

So is anyone else excited for yet another Metal Gear Solid title?

I've seen quite a lot of MGS4 and such and it looks great. I haven't actually played any of the MGS series ( PC gamer =D) before anything even popped up it got me excited just due to the fact that it is part of the MGS series. The new gameplay released in the E3 trailer also looked great. Most complaints iv'e heard are the lessening of stealth elements, however i cant really put my opinion about that since i haven't played any MGS games....so basically, looks great from the gameplay so far.

It doesn't seem to be very stealth oriented, and judging from what little gameplay I've seen, all I can say is that the gimmick they're using (being able to slice things at every conceivable angle) looks sort of interesting. Not interesting enough to get me back into Metal Gear Solid, though. As far as I'm concerned, Guns of the Patriots is and will continue to be the final MGS game, so Rising will have to be pretty damn amazing to convince me otherwise.

MGS1 and MGS2 are both on PC.

MGS1 was amazing, and I feel it works better as a standalone game. I can accept MGS2 as a spiritual sequel at best, because it fails to follow the dark and gritty style of MGS1 completely. I completely refuse the fact that MGS3, MGS4, and any game related to those are even in the same universe as MGS1

The game mechanics of MGS4 were absolutely fantastic, which is why it was so unfortunate that the game was ~80% cutscenes. Sometimes the only thing you do between cutscenes is run down a corridor. These weren't bad really, just far too long and far too vague and bullshit-y. I'll probably pick up Rising once it inevitably goes into "Greatest Hits" production.

Kidding, I love MGS:PW as "gay" as it is. Not trying to offend anyone.

Nice to see it's getting an XBOX release. I'm not a huge fan of the series, I prefer Splinter Cell for my stealth action. But I would have liked to have played the last one, if only it wasn't a PS3 exclusive. I'm interested in this. Not pants-ruining excited, but mildly interested.

Anyway, everyone knows the definitive MGS game is Metal Gear Acid on the PSP. /troll
