I've decided that since the PSP is a handheld console and therefore doesn't get nearly as many big titles, I'd make a thread dedicated to it. I just got a psp and I'm looking for games for it. All I've got right now is Burnout: Revenge and Half Minute Hero.

So suggest games to me!

What genre ? I know you like the Nippon Ichi titles - you can get Disgaea 1 and 2 on the PSP.

I have played a ridiculous amount of Pangya the fantasy golf game, for some reason (I like golf, what a nerd).

Metal Gear Acid is odd, fairly unique concept. Not perfect, but I like it.

Uh ... lots o stuff. Give me a preferred genre and I'll give you a recommendation.

I played PangYa the MMORPG tons, I don't really want to play the handheld offshoot

I'm not really limiting myself to a genre, I just don't know what good games are on the PSP.

I just kind of want something engrossing.

I found Armored Core 3 and it is indeed engrossing. It has a HUGE learning curve (not even joking) and is absolutely impossible to play unless you customize the controls in a way that suits you. The default controls are almost the worst possible way to set it up.

Anyway, I recommend Armored Core 3 to anyone that has a PSP. Even if they have already played the PS2 version. PSP version has added stuff.

I always wanted to like the Armored Core games, but could never quite get there. I always liked their huge amount of customisation and many, many weapons though. The actual gameplay and especially level design is where they've always let me down in the past. I will check out this new Armored Core, but if I don't like it then it's YOUR fault, art. Can you live with that ? Can you live with the PRESSURE ?

The gameplay is awful for new players because it has a MASSIVE learning curve, but once you get into it it's really fast paced and fun

me playing AC3:

Again, my problem with MGS Portable Ops was aiming with the right hand side buttons. I wish the PSP had dual analogue sticks. All in all the MGS series is pretty well represented on the PSP. There's Portable Ops and then isn't there another one ? Portable Ops 2 or a mission pack or something ? And then there's Acid 1 and 2 which are a bit weird but I like them. And then Peace Walker is coming soon. Let's hear it for Kojima productions and their support of the PSP. Nice !

I honestly use the classic metal gear solid setup for portable ops

so my complaint is that it's an over-the-shoulder view
