I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Melbourne (Aus) I've found that there are just so many advertisements displaying "longer sex" and treating "ejaculation disorders". Wtf? What makes it even worse is that they aren't just some little paper thing on a brick wall, but huge billboards EVERYWHERE! Today on the way home I counted 3: Two in the city and one on the way home near my house. Is it just here or do other places have this as well?

Yeah, that shit wouldn't fly here in Thailand. A very conservative culture, despite the sex tourism and whatnot. People would be rioting. Uh ... mor ethan they are at the moment, that is.

The best thing I saw along these lines was when I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They have a huge obelisk in the middle of the city, like the Washington Monument (for you Americans). For AIDS Awareness Day or whatever it was, they pulled a massive, massive condom over the whole thing. Awesome.

Thanks for asking. So far it hasn't affected me very much. It's kind of localised so far and hasn't changed daily life too much. Just the public transport shutting down earlier in the evening and so on. But everyone is a little tense and keeping a wary eye on the situation. So, no real problems so far for me personally but it's anyone's guess as to what happens next. I doubt it'll get so hairy that I have to leave Thailand.

One thing's fer sure, I'm doing my best to stay the hell away from all of it.

Lol, if you saw the news on some channels in Australia (Today Tonight, I'm looking at you) you'd think the entire country has shut down and it's every man for itself. Not the first time news has exaggerated something far beyond what it is, you know.

Yeah, I never rely on the news or ever did, I know firsthand that most of the stuff they report, especially conflicts in other countries, is pure dogshit.
